“ El Maizal in Pasadena, TX offers a diverse menu with a variety of options. I tried their tacos de pastor, which were a highlight--tender and flavorful, especially with the addition of avocado and fresh cheese in the Monterrey tacos. The tacos al vapor, including chicharrón and papa, were small but packed with flavor. For sides, I had the frijoles especiales, a mix of beans, pastor meat, beef, and cheese. While the dish was enjoyable, the beef didn't quite win me over. The service was great, and although the ambiance is fairly typical and gets busy during lunchtime, the overall experience was positive. I'm looking forward to exploring more items from their menu on future visits. ”
“ me and my friend stopped at the restaurant because we saw fresh trompo but we didn't know they closed at 12 and it was already 12:30. The workers insisted that we sat down and ate even though they were already cleaning up for the night. despite it being late and raining the trompo and fajita was soooo good and tasted fresh!! our server was attentive and it was a really great experience especially since they could have turned us away but decided to serve us without hesitation. We will be returning soon! Muchas Gracias! ”
“ A hole in the wall. Authentic food from Monterrey, NL Mexico. We had empalmadas, tacos al vapor, tacos de trompo y bistec, and charro beans. Empalmada was delicious, I had mine with desebrada meat (shredded beef). Bistec (beef) tacos were very good. Trompo (pork) very good taste but a little thick for me. Tortillas had an authentic yellow corn flavor. We will definitely be coming back! Service was awesome!! ”
